2017 Mercedes-Benz C300 Coupe: Luxurious Style with Exhilirating Performance

When you buy a Mercedes-Benz you expect a certain kind of car. It should be sleek and elegant. It should also be sexy, not boring, and it should have some performance chops. The all-new 2017 Mercedes-Benz C300 Coupe delivers on all fronts.

There are design changes everywhere you look with standout features that demand your attention. The diamond-patterned grille up front is gorgeous and a massive improvement over the previous generation. It also has a longer hood which makes that new grille look even more impressive.

Take a look at the back and there’s your sexy. The C300 Coupe is 1.6-inches wider with a suspension that is .6-inches lower. This wide, low stance makes the rear haunches of the C300 coupe absolutely drool-worthy. This is a good-looking car. You’re going to make people jealous.

The interior combines rich leathers and wood trims to create a luxury ride experience. This is balanced by seats that are heavily bolstered to keep you in place when you’re ready to have some fun with all the power at your disposal.

The C300 Coupe has a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 241 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque paired to a smooth 7-speed automatic transmission. Hit the gas and the response is immediate. Now those performance seats suddenly make a whole lot of sense. You also have a choice of either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive so you can take your C300 Coupe out for some fun no matter the weather.

The C300 Coupe’s power is paired with impressive handling that emphasizes the car’s performance without sacrificing its ride. Fantastic handling makes it effortless to drive, even through narrow, winding roads. Don’t let the smooth ride fool you. The C300 Coupe has a 0-60 mph time of 5.9 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 130 mph.

Optional Airmatic suspension further improves the ride by electronically adjusting damping to smooth out the bumps and reduce vibration and road noise. There are also five Dynamic Select drive modes that let you customize your ride.

Settings alter engine, steering, automatic stop/start, and climate control with Airmatic-equipped models also getting suspension adjustments. Choose Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport+ or Individual: whichever suits your style.

Eco is the most reserved of the lot, but dial it up to Sport+ and the difference is stunning. The engine note is louder and bolder, the steering tightens, and throttle response increases. Even a light foot on the gas in Sport+ will press you back into your seat.

If you don’t enjoy the preset drive modes, then there’s Individual mode. This lets you tailor each system to suit your driving preferences.

The C300 Coupe includes standard semi-autonomous safety technology like Attention Assist, which detects the driving of a tired driver and warns you to pay attention to the road. There is also Collision Prevention Assist Plus which issues an audible warning in the event of possible collisions and Adaptive Brake Assist which can boost the brakes in an emergency.

Adaptive Brake Assist is a safety feature that automatically applies the brakes at speeds of up to 124 mph to reduce the severity of a collision or to prevent one altogether. At slower speeds of up to 31 mph, the system even brakes in response to avoid stationary vehicles and prevent rear-end collisions.

The C300 Coupe delivers the performance and luxury of a Mercedes-Benz with a price tag more affordable than many of its other models. Base price is $42,650, but if you go crazy with the options you’re looking at as much as $60,000.

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz C300 Coupe has style, luxury looks, and performance that will make you fall in love no matter the price.
